Hi, I am Maia! 

I was born and raised in a tiny Northern California town and have since moved to the beautiful Monterey area. Ever since I was gifted my first 35mm Polaroid camera (any of you remember those?), I fell in love with photography! I have had the pleasure to travel around the US and many countries around the world (I still have many more places to go), and I have seen that it’s about the people & places that make the most magical memories. 

Every time you relook at your photos I want those feelings to embrace you; whether it is that bubbly sensation you got when your significant other smiles at you or when you feel the deep laugh of your father or when your child gets excited about the sand. I want you to savor the moment during the day and remember those feelings when you look back in 20 years. 

There are so many aspects when thinking about getting married; venue, Dj, food, florals, lighting, etc. - it can be very overwhelming. I recently just got married, so believe me when I say, I know what you are going through! All of these are all essential when planning your big day, however, your photos are for life. It’s my belief that photographs are more than just pictures, they are an investment and they will be passed down to your grandchild and their grandchildren. I have a photojournalist style to my photographs because I don’t want you to know that I am there. I want you to savor every moment of your special day. There is a time and place for more posed photos and I will make sure we get all your special shots. In addition, I am a huge believer that always being yourself is important and I will  make sure you feel comfortable in front of the camera! 

When I am not working, you can usually find me at the beach with my dog Lily and husband Nick, having people over for dinner, enjoying a good movie or book, and there will always be food :)
